WHERE:  Hilton Washington, Washington, DC

Recruitment is a critical issue for companies, as they face the realities of a potentially enormous gap in talent with the retirement of baby boomers. By 2011 available jobs could outnumber workers by 4.3 million, according to the Employment Policy Foundation. Additionally, while employers only expect 14 percent of their workforces to leave over the next year, data from the 2005 Spherion Emerging Workforce Study shows that 40 percent of U.S. workers intend to find a new job in the next 12 months. Organizations are beginning to recognize that a proactive, not reactive, approach to this crisis in the making will be vital to corporate competitiveness and market success.

The case-study presentation will review Compass Group’s approach to keeping pace with the demand for talent due to rapid growth via acquisitions, an issue which was compounded by new hiring-practice legal requirements and the ongoing “war for talent.” To solve this challenge, Compass Group turned to Authoria Recruiting, a collaborative application that optimizes the process of finding, recruiting and retaining the “best-fit” talent for an organization. By seeking a proactive recruitment solution, the organization was able to increase its talent pool by 32,000 applicants, in the first year after deployment.

In addition to co-presenting session #359, Authoria is a sponsor of the 2006 IHRIM Conference & Exposition and will demo its Authoria (R) 2006 talent management solution at booth #303.
