Waltham, MA – August 22, 2005 –
Authoria, Inc., the leader in integrated strategic Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, today announced record-breaking second quarter results (ended June 30, 2005) with a 42 percent increase in revenue over the same period last year.
The second quarter included nine large deals, and two-thirds of all deals will be delivered via Authoria On-Demand, the company’s fully-hosted, fully-managed, secure, Internet-based solution.
New deals for the second quarter include contracts with:
• Iron Mountain
• McDonald’s
• Rotech Healthcare
• Sun Life Financial
Authoria also closed new deals with a Global 500 pharmaceutical company, a Global 500 financial services company, and a Fortune 500 food and beverage chain company.
In addition, during the quarter, Authoria completed its acquisition of Hire.com, Inc., an Austin, Texas-based recruiting software company that delivers its solutions entirely on-demand. Authoria has integrated Hire.com’s recruiting management solutions with its broad Authoria Advisor Suite as Hire Advisor, giving Authoria the most complete, fully-integrated HCM solution on the market.
"The addition of Hire.com’s recruiting expertise and award-winning solutions further lengthens our lead in the HCM marketplace," said Tod Loofbourrow, Authoria’s president and chief executive officer. “Authoria’s fully-integrated suite of employee and manager communication software, compensation and performance management solutions, and now, recruiting solutions, offer large employers a way to quickly and easily support and manage the entire talent lifecycle. Top global leaders are increasingly choosing Authoria solutions for their workforce management needs.”
Hire.com pioneered the use of the Internet and on-demand applications to radically improve the recruiting process, winning customers like FedEx, Kaiser Permanente, Royal Caribbean, Adobe and Reuters. Hire’s software-as-a-service innovation and expertise complements Authoria’s on-demand strategy, providing hosted fully-managed HCM applications and delivering them over the Internet.
Additionally, as a result of the acquisition, Chris Pacitti, general partner at Austin Ventures, has joined Authoria’s Board of Directors.
“Chris is an excellent addition to the Authoria board – he is smart, experienced, strategic, and pragmatic. Chris joins one of the strongest boards in the software business, and his experience growing software-as-a-service leaders like Hire.com will be invaluable to Authoria’s continued rapid growth,” Loofbourrow continued.
In April, Authoria further demonstrated its growing market leadership by once again breaking attendance records for its annual user conference, held this year at the Green Valley Ranch and Resort in Las Vegas. The conference hosted more than 300 attendees representing more than 250 customers, partners and prospects, who participated in sessions that covered all elements of the Authoria Advisor Series.
“We continue to expand our strong financial and operational model,” said Bill Brown, chief financial officer at Authoria. “We crossed into profitability at the end of 2004. Thanks to our continued revenue growth, new blue-chip customers, and exceptionally strong deal pipeline, we expect for Authoria to be profitable for fiscal year 2005 with a run-rate in excess of $50 million.”
