Authoria, Inc., the world leader in personalized, Web-based, human resource communication, today announced that the company has been named one of the leading companies in the Human Resources category by Forbes magazine in the October 7 "Best of the Web: B2B" issue. Authoria has also been named to Software Magazines annual Software 500, and as one of New Englands Fastest Growing Technology Companies in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 Program. This marks Authorias second appearance in the Forbes Best of the Web, B2B, second appearance in the Software 500, and fourth in the New England Technology Fast 50.
"We are honored to once again be recognized by Forbes, Software Magazine and Deloitte & Touche for our achievements over the past year," said Tod Loofbourrow, president and CEO of Authoria. "Today, the demand for personalized communication between companies and their employees has never been greater. Authoria continues to meet this demand with enterprise software products that are intuitive, easy to use and understand while dramatically reducing administrative costs."
In Forbes Best of the Web B2B issue, Forbes describes Authoria as "a leading player in the growing self-service area," whose enterprise software "supports multiple channels, including corporate portals, call centers and transaction systems." Forbes continues, "(Authoria HR) lets workers go online to research HR benefits and information. Expecting a child? Employees can log on to find out about family-leave policies, insurance coverage or which college savings plans can be accessed through payroll deduction."
"Although IT spending was slow last year, many software product and service suppliers did do well," says John Desmond, Software Magazines editorial director. "Companies who can deliver rapid return on investment for their customers with focused product offerings had better results. CIOs and senior IT managers can peruse this yearly benchmark to see how their product and service partners fared. Thats a valuable service."
"In an era where technology companies come and go, making the Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 is a testament to a companys vision that provides for tremendous growth over a five-year period," said Steve DiPietro, co-chair of the New England Technology Fast 50 program and partner in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice at Deloitte & Touche. "Authoria has proven that its leadership has the talent for such growth, and we at Deloitte & Touche salute their accomplishments."

About the Software 500
The Software 500 is a comprehensive look at the software industry targeting enterprise IT organizations with software and services. The list includes both private and public companies. The Software 500 is a worldwide list in that it is open to any company who submits financial and product information via the annual Software 500 survey, which for the first time this year was conducted 100% on the Web by The Standish Group, a research and analyst firm based in Yarmouthport, Mass.
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and service revenue for calendar year 2001. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. Companies are measured on calendar year revenues whenever possible to compare the same four quarters; fiscal year exceptions are noted.
The Software 500 is featured in the publications Summer 2002 issue.
