Waltham, MA – July 14, 2003 –
Authoria, Inc., a world leader in personalized employee communication, today announced the success of corporate and HR portal initiatives powered by Authoria HR at numerous companies including Cinergy Corp. and American Family Insurance. Companies like these are just two of the many organizations that rely on Authoria to provide personalized information about benefits and HR policies over their corporate and HR portals.
Building corporate portals for employee communication is a major priority at most organizations. In fact, a recent Towers Perrin survey shows that more than 70% of companies in North America are either using or planning to implement a portal this year. Employee communications and human resources information is often at the forefront of the initiative.
"For many organizations, HR information is the primary driver for corporate portal deployments," said Ron Hanscome, Senior Program Director, META Group. "Organizations are recognizing the need to find solutions that reduce IT involvement and allow human resources professionals to self-manage the HR portion of their portals, providing contextual content that is truly personalized to the individual employee."
At Cinergy, its internal Human Resources group has extended its HR brand, iPeople, to its dedicated HR community on the companys internal Plumtree portal.
"We strategically brought Authoria onto iPeople as the critical HR application to provide an online delivery system of robust and personalized HR-related content under the private label of my iPeople," said Donna Korte, Manager of Health and Welfare Plans, Cinergy Corp. "my iPeople has taken the place of the traditional hardcopy handbook at Cinergy allowing us to take another step toward our corporate goal of a wired workforce."
At American Family Insurance, employees turn to an HR intranet portal called "People Place" for the information and tools they need to conduct HR business online. "People Place has become a prime destination on the corporate intranet because it has the personal information employees want along with working HR tools that save them time," says Russ Evansen, HR Brand & Content Manager. "We leverage Authoria not only for the personal information it provides, but also as a way to give our employees consistent and accurate context for making important decisions about their benefits."
Evansen notes that Authoria also allows HR to own its content and make changes almost instantly. "We have a great working relationship with our IT partners," he says. But they have plenty to do without worrying about maintaining our content for us. Authoria lets us take charge of this aspect of our business.
"We're proud to provide a powerful set of content-rich applications like Authoria HR that power the overall success of our customers portal initiatives," said Tod Loofbourrow, President and CEO of Authoria. "Using our patented technology to deliver benefit and HR policy information, we are helping our customers make employee self-service a success and save substantial amounts of money by driving employee inquiries out to the web and away from HR generalists and call centers."
