ATK Will Use Authoria Manager Advisor™ to Support Managers and Help Integrate New Business

Authoria solution provides information managers need to successfully support corporate objectives

Waltham, MA – June 30, 2004 –

Authoria, Inc., a leader in strategic Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, today announced that ATK (NYSE: ATK), a $2.4 billion advanced weapon and space systems company, will use Authoria Manager Advisor to support its managers and its growing business needs. Authoria Manager Advisor is Authoria’s new Web-based solution that provides managers with a single access point to information providing just-in-time knowledge and coaching on a company’s policies and programs while also capturing analytics and trends.  Authoria’s innovative software saves managers time, increases productivity, and fosters manager compliance.

An existing Authoria customer, ATK, has already rolled out Authoria Employee Advisor to 12,000 employees through its call center and its “Employee Solutions” portal. At the time of its initial Authoria implementation, ATK had 6,500 employees. Due to organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the company’s headcount has more than doubled, to 13,100 employees. As a result, ATK looked to Authoria to integrate disparate policies, employee benefits and compensation information quickly and accurately.

“ATK has acquired at least seven companies in the last two years and we want to ensure that all policy information is properly distributed to our new employees,” said Brenda Byron, director of HR shared services. “It’s crucial that all of our employees have the ability to access and understand personalized content about benefits and policies, regardless of location or job function. Authoria Manager Advisor not only effectively communicates this type of information, but also coaches managers through various tasks, allowing them to focus on more strategic initiatives that directly impact our company’s bottom line.”

Today, with the help of Authoria, ATK is now able to assimilate a newly acquired company in just 90 days. By adding Authoria Manager Advisor, the company is primed to absorb additional acquisition challenges and communicate important information to managers while helping them do their jobs more effectively and align their employees’ goals with corporate objectives.

“Companies like ATK have a widespread and diverse employee base. It’s critical that ATK’s managers have access to the information they need most,” said Ganne Howard, vice president of customer care at Authoria. “With Authoria Manager Advisor, ATK’s managers will receive relevant knowledge and coaching in an event-driven format that communicates what they need to know about policies and programs, and what is required to support them."
